wedding stationary 101

Getting started

One invitation set per house hold, plus a few spares.

+ how many

Generally speaking, Save the Date cards should be sent out six to eight months in advance of your wedding date and Invitations six to eight weeks before.

It’s always best to allow a little more time for destination or summer weddings. This will give your guests chance to make any additional arrangements towards travel, accommodation or holidays.

+ WHEN to ORDER

Formal, fun, traditional, or irreverent – in these modern times it’s totally up to you!

You can take inspiration from the semi-custom collection designs or add in your own choice of wording.
The key points to remember are really pretty simple:

- Who’s getting married
- Who’s hosting this most fabulous of days
- When and where the ceremony will be followed by any additional details for the evening reception
- Extra info if needed – accommodation, local taxi firms, wedding transport, gifts, dress code... and so on
- R.S.V.P details (when do your guests need to reply by and where to)

In a nutshell, an invitation should carry all the essential details your guests will want to know alongside the first glimpse of your wedding style.

+ invitation wording

When ordering from the semi-custom collections, time scales are really dependant on quantities. However allowing up to six - eight weeks to put your stationery together is perfect. Bespoke designs may take longer in the design stages, as will any special finishes or techniques.

I will always try my very best to accommodate more urgent requests, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need pieces quicker.

+ design time

If you’ve something totally unique in mind, then a bespoke design is the way to go! Opening up options beyond paper - from wood, acrylic and fabric to custom laser cut suites with intricate ‘our story’ designs. Foiling, embossing and hand lettering are also available.

The sky’s the limit!

+ going for bespoke

If you love the general design look and feel of the semi-custom collections, there’s a variety of options at hand to personalise them to your style, including a range of gorgeous paper stocks and over ninety laser card colours.

+ how custom is semi-custom?

Un-assembled VS assembled invitation options.

If you’re working within a budget or just love a bit of wedding D.I.Y, the un-assembled option for laser cut wedding invitations might be right up your street! They’re straight forward to put together with a few card craft tools (scorer to go over the dotted fold lines and trusty metal ruler to help fold in the sides). Set aside a few hours and grab your wedding team...maybe a nice glass of wine too.

Assembled sets are exactly that. All the jackets or bands are folded around your invitations, and ribbon tied nicely by hand. Perfect if you’ve not got much spare time or the thought of wedding D.I.Y makes you shudder.

+ wedding d.i.y

I do genuinely LOVE a good spreadsheet! So if you've meticulously put together a cost breakdown, I'm always happy to offer advice on what can be achieved within a specific budget.

Pricing for the collections is put together with this very concern in mind. With the option of un-assembled stationery pieces and an ‘a la carte’ approach to ordering available.

+ spending plans

I always really encourage samples, they're a great introduction to working together! Sample sets give you the opportunity to see the attention to detail within the designs and also to match any colour schemes.

Sample sets for all semi-custom collections are available through my Etsy Shop or website Contact Form, with laser cut pieces made to order.

+ Samples

Orders outside the UK are always welcome! There are a few extra considerations (e.g double checking any customs duty/tax duties).

I regularly work with clients in the U.S.A and love to chat over WhatsApp or Skype.

+ international orders

All semi-custom collections have coordinating favour boxes, confetti cones and table decor.

If you’ve a weird or wonderful favour idea but can't find a box to fit, all favour boxes can be adjusted in size.

+ favours & Decor

I absolutely understand that sometimes things just happen - a venue falls through, the wedding date needs to be moved... and I'll always look to accommodate when these situations occur.

If an order is cancelled before any production has started, a proportionate refund may be possible based on whether materials have been ordered in and how much design time has be undertaken etc.

Once an order has been passed to print or laser cutting, unfortunately no refund will be available except any delivery charges already invoiced for.

As all orders are made bespoke, I am unable to accept returns or exchanges except for when items have been confirmed as arriving damaged.

Please take a look over the full Term's & Conditions for more information.

+ REFUNDS / EXCHANGES

Shipping is always calculated by weight and value, so will differ across each order.

Most U.K. orders are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery (tracked and insured) at £30.
International orders will be priced on the specific order details, but will be quoted for in advance.
